In this course we intend will give an overview of the properties of materials and how to obtain them, as well as complementary techniques to successfully port the design and manufacture of a product.
Study the physical, mechanical and technological materials properties. Study precision measurement techniques. Study the dimensional tolerances and adjustments. Study binding processes. Study the surface states. Particular attention will be focused towards the use of materials databases. Videos of manufacturing processes will be shown. Use of some equipment.
The evaluation is done through a final exam. During the semester will be conducted two tests for continuous assessment. Handouts, exercises and relevant materials datashheets will be provided at Moodle teaching platform.
